Have you been receiving lots of offers for essential oils from Vitality Extracts lately? They are definitely pushing for their market share in the essential oils world.
Are you wondering if their EOs are of high quality? I can help explain that for you.
This post contains affiliate links, which means if you make a purchase through these links, I may receive a small commission at no extra cost to you. Read my full disclosure policy here.
I haven’t personally used Vitality Extracts oils, so it’s hard for me to answer from a first hand perspective.
However, what I can tell you is that when looking at their official website, I don’t see any information on essential oils quality, sourcing, or testing available.
Also, all sorts of red flags go off when I look at them through my FakeSpot browser plug-ins (more on that later).
So beware! Read my full review before spending your money.
Vitality Extracts Essential Oils Quality Review
The very first HUGE red flag for me was that I couldn’t find any precise information about Vitality Extracts’ essential oils quality promise.
No page under FAQ. No quality or sourcing information under “About Us”.
Now, there is a blurb on the single essential oils product pages, stating that their products are GC/MS tested. But at this point, I was already skeptical.
So, I thought, if GC/MS reports exist, can I get one to look at?
Customer Service Experience
To try and get more information on Vitality Extracts’ essential oils quality, I went on their website chat, and requested a GC/MS report from a customer service representative.
While getting someone on chat was somewhat cumbersome (I had to wait 15-20 minutes for a reply), I did eventually get a GC/MS report to review.
However, they sent me a report dated February 7, 2019.
It’s June 2024 right now… Are they still selling this batch of Frankincense, 5 years later?
Shop from these Brands instead
At this point, the chat timed out, and I received the following reply via email, 1 day later:
Read that again. So essential oils don’t have an expiration date, but they do gradually lose their therapeutic value?
Which one is it???
I wasn’t able to get a clear answer from customer service. Sounds to me like they don’t know what they’re talking about, either.
If this brand of essential oils was selling high quality oils, they’d know how important this information is. And they should disclose it properly, without all these hoops.
Lots of Red Flags
Just to finish my list of observations, here is what else I noticed that doesn’t make me trust this brand:
- On Reviews.io, Vitality Extracts is rated just 1.9/ out of 5 stars. This website collects reviews from real-life users, and most users seem dissatisfied and disgruntled. Complaints range from terrible customer service (no replies to emails), to unsealed product and refund issues.
- It looks like Vitality Extracts is huge on selling on Amazon. That is not a problem as such, but one can fake reviews on Amazon quite substantially. So I used my handy Mozilla FakeSpot Review analyzer plug-in (that helps spot fake reviews on Amazon products), and I got a 3/ out of 5 star adjusted rating and a company grade of “D”.
- My FakeSpot plug-in also alerted be to be aware when shopping directly on www.VitalityExtracts.com:
- The essential oil bottle labelling does NOT include latin plant names, it only states “All Natural Plant Extract”. This is not something I have never seen anywhere else before, and it’s making me suspicious.
- I tried to get a hold of their customer service team via chat on their website, at 1:34 PM. This would be a totally normal time for businesses to be live & available in North America. The screenshot below shows their automated bot response. Only after 15 minutes of wait time, I got a real person on the line.
All in all, as you can see, I don’t have much good to say about this company.
And I’m not really all that inspired to order some oils and waste my money on essential oils that will most likely end in the trash.
Here are better brands to buy from
Buying Essential Oils on Amazon
If you like to shop on Amazon, you are not alone. There is nothing wrong with ordering essential oils on Amazon.
However, there are many better brands that sell on Amazon. You do not need to go with a discount brand like Vitality Extracts.
Final Thoughts
Personally, I would NOT buy from Vitality Extracts.
