Best Essential Oils for Energy
Let’s have a look at which oils to pick when you’re hoping to create a bit more pep in your step:
- Grapefruit (Citrus x paradisi): A very energy-inducing oil that is sure to please your senses. It can be somewhat faint in aroma, so add an extra drop or two. It definitely creates a happy feel and works beautifully in a morning blend.
- Lemon (Citrus limon): A very popular and versatile oil, Lemon is an all-star in many ways and can be quite cheap to buy (even in an organic variety). With its scent being commonly recognized, it quickly creates a heightened mood and refreshed feel.
- Sweet Orange (Citrus sinensis): Also with a very light, commonly recognized scent, Sweet Orange essential oil lifts the mood and helps relieve symptoms of depression. It is a top note oil, so you may have to re-apply it or use it repeatedly to keep it smelling strong.
- Bergamot (Citrus bergamia): Bergamot (compared to Sweet Orange), is quite strong and the scent lasts quite a while. It’s fresh and energizing and helps cleanse the air and aura in your home. Caution though – it is not recommended to use around children or pets.
- Tangerine (Citrus reticulata): Tangerine oil is soothing to the nervous system and helps to get rid of tension and negativity. It is a positivity-booster and blends well with Bergamot mentioned above.
- Lime (Citrus aurantifolia): Stronger yet than both Sweet Orange and Bergamot, is Lime essential oil. It is very potent and bright – some may even find it too strong. It is best used in a blend to bring in its punch yet be complemented and toned down by other oils in the mix.
- Yuzu (Citrus junos): Yuzu oil originated in Japanese culture and is refreshing to both the body and spirit. It lifts up your whole being. In aromatherapy, it is often used to soothe stress and nervous behaviors. Add it to your happy essential oil blend to crea
- +te an all-around feeling of freshness.
- Peppermint (Mentha piperita): Peppermint quickly adds a kick in your essential oil blend recipe to uplift your mood. It’s fresh and mint-y, budget-friendly and versatile. In addition to being energizing, it is also one of the best essential oils for headaches. Minty oils like peppermint will be able to help you feel fresh and cool and able to tackle anything your day throws at you.
- Melissa (Melissa officinalis): Melissa helps to nourish the spirit and restore mental balance. In an uplifting essential oil blend, it creates that extra touch of vitality that promotes a gentle mood improvement.
- Ylang-Ylang (Canaga odorata): Ylang-Ylang carries quite a feminine scent. Used on its own, it can feel overpowering – but added to an uplifting blend recipe, it provides grounding and stabilizing properties. It is also used as an aphrodisiac essential oil, and provides you a relaxed feeling and an excellent mood to manage the day’s troubles.

15 Energizing Essential Oil Blends
Essential oils work better together. Using 2 or 3 oils used together will improve the potency of each one. I always recommend blending at least 2 oils together rather than using just one single oil.

How to Use Essential Oils to Uplift Your Mood
There are several ways to use essential oils. They should not be ingested and must always be diluted before you put them on your skin.
Diffusing
If you are a newcomer to essential oils, there’s no greater approach to get to understand them than through your diffuser.
A diffuser is the ideal approach to scent your house without posing a health or fire risk. It automatically shuts off when the water level becomes too low. You can use an aromatherapy oil diffuser in your residence, or even at your workplace. This beautiful new Diamond Essential Oil Diffuser from Edens Garden is the ideal product to bring the many advantages of essential oils into your home.
Diffuse for 15-20 minutes only, to start. The air in a small room will quite quickly fill with aroma, and there’s no need to run the diffuser for 3 or 4 hours at a time.

Topical Application
Topical application of essential oils bears the benefit of almost immediate absorption into your body systems. You can usually feel the effects of the essential oils within 20 minutes.
However, topical use comes with some cautions. You always have to dilute the oils in a fatty carrier oil to avoid skin rashes, redness, or reactions.
Be generous when diluting your oils for topical use. Most citrus oils are photosensitive, meaning they may cause skin irritations if exposed to direct sunlight within 24 hours.
Moreover, if you’re using energizing essential oils for a young child, be sure to use less than you would for you or another adult. Follow the recommended dilution rates for children here.

Final Thoughts
If buying essential oils, get the maximum high quality oil that you are able.
Essential oils are not only there to provide you with a boost of energy. They can also help you address the stress or anxiety that caused the deflated feeling in the first place.
The oils can also help increase your immunity, and reduce the chance of a cold or flu.

Overjoyed that you use Melissa! So many recipes for depression omit this vital oil, and I have found that just a drop or two in a blend really helps me with my severe depression. Unfortunately, I cannot take the anti-depressant meds, so Essential Oils are my life savers.
