Eden’s Garden is one of the leading companies that sell essential oils today. They hold a consistent spot on my list of best essential oil brands.
While there are a lot of essential oil sellers these days, only a few brands consistently impress. Edens Garden is one of those companies.
They offer a wide range of quality essential oils in their online shop or on Amazon.com. You can also get much needed aromatherapy accessories, gift sets and carrier oils.
If you’re reading as many EG reviews as you can find: I hope you find my article useful, unbiased and comprehensive. You’ll see that I personally use these oils, and put them through rigorous testing before recommending them to you.
What’s The Best Thing About Edens Garden Oils?

About the Company
It is very important to know who you’re buying your essential oils from.
To this day, Edens Garden is a family-owned, women-led company.
Edens Garden started back in the early 2000’s when Grace, Edens Gardens’ CEO, was on a trip in New Zealand.
She learned to use the aroma of essential oils to bring about a sense of relaxation. It related to her experience of the pure and untouched countryside there.
So Grace set out to create something that would allow her to share the wonders of essential oils with everyone. Today, Edens Garden has blossomed into an established, respected brand that sells various types of essential oils.
Edens Garden Essential Oils Quality
All oils sold by Edens Garden are 100% pure, therapeutic grade. This means that they don’t contain any pesticides, herbicides or other harmful ingredients.
Edens Garden essential oils are also not stretched with bases, carriers or additives of any kind. This makes them pure oils and allows their benefits to flourish to the fullest.
GC/MS Testing
Edens Garden essential oils go to a 3rd party lab for independent GC/MS testing.
This is an important step for an essential oil brand to ensure their oils’ quality.
GC/MS reports detect adulteration in essential oils. Passing this test shows that Edens Garden oils are indeed unadulterated, free of synthetics, and entirely pure.
For every single essential oil, you can download these reports directly from their website. This is amazing for quality assurance!
Quality Assurance
At Edens Garden essential oils, the commitment to essential oil quality also shows in these 5 cornerstone values:
- E – Effective: All Edens Garden oils are 100% pure therapeutic grade. Thus, they stand for their effectiveness in aromatherapy applications.
- D – Dedicated: Edens Garden is a dedicated “customer first” company. They are always here to answer your questions through customer support.
- E – Educated: Certified aromatherapists contribute to the EG blog and newsletter. This means you can keep learning about the many benefits of essential oils from a trusted source.
- N – Natural: This part of the quality promise stands for unadulterated oils that are 100% pure and free of synthetics. If you’d like, you can request their oil test results and see for yourself.
- S – Safe: Edens Garden oils get GC/MS tested in a 3rd party lab. As an essential oils company, EG handles their products with great care.
Ethical, Sustainable Sourcing
Edens Garden partners with farms and distilleries that agree to follow their ethical code and high standards for quality and sustainability.
The company focuses on building strong, mutually beneficial relationships with their sourcing partners.
This is great news since after all, these partnerships are the backbone of any essential oil company.
- Edens Garden partners with passionate experts.
- They support farms who put people first.
- They ensure utmost quality through rigorous testing.
Bottling and Labeling
Proper bottling and labeling of essential oils is crucial for maintaining their quality and ensuring safe usage.
- EG essential oils are bottled in dark, amber-colored glass containers to protect them from light, which can degrade their potency.
- The bottles are tightly sealed with a cap that prevents air and moisture from entering, as these elements can alter the oil’s composition over time.
Edens Garden goes above and beyond in labeling their essential oils with so much useful information!
- Oil labels include the common and botanical name of the essential oil, the extraction method, and even tips on what it blends well with.
- Additionally, their labels provide safety information, such as whether the oil is safe for kids, during pregnancy, or other precautions you should take.
I love how much info is provided on these labels. It really helps me trust Edens Garden as a brand.
Can I Ingest Edens Garden Oils?
The internal use of Edens Garden essential oils is not recommended. On Edens Garden’s blog, their lead aromatherapist explains why in a lot of detail. EG’s official statement is to not use their oils without consulting with an experienced aromatherapist.
Because essential oils are highly concentrated substances, there are dangers when they come into direct contact with your vital organs such as the mouth, tongue or stomach. Oils will attach to the mucous membrane which lines these organs, and cause potential harm.
I support this opinion as well. The FDA does not regulate the essential oils industry. This leaves oil companies to their own merit in terms of what can and cannot be advertised in this regard. At the end of the day, ingesting essential oils remains a controversial topic that requires diligent research.
Pricing
Edens Garden oils are super fairly priced. They are very much comparable to other popular essential oil companies in terms of what they charge for oils.
Oil | Edens Garden | Plant Therapy | REVIVE |
Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) | $11.95 * | $8.99 * | $9 * |
Bergamot (Citrus bergamia) | $11.95 * | $10.99 * | $11 * |
Clary Sage (Salvia sclarea) | $12.95 * | $10.99 * | $11 * |
* Prices at time of writing and subject to change without notice.
The only exception here, of course, are the MLM companies (Young Living and doTERRA). MLM stands for Multi Level Marketing, and these companies are in a much higher price range because of the increased costs of marketing their products.
If you’re interested in the exact differences between a direct-to-consumer company such as EG and the MLM companies, you’ll enjoy my comparison of Young Living vs. Edens Garden.
Edens Garden Oils Collection
Edens Garden has a lot to offer when it comes to their essential oils collection and products. They sell a great variety of essential oils, carrier oils, accessories and gift packs. Often, you can find a discount or bonus to go along with your purchase. My personal favorites are the gift sets because they offer such an exclusive value. Plus, they just look so pretty when they arrive in the mail!
At Edens Garden, you can buy both single essential oils and essential oil synergies. The synergies are pre-blended mixes of essential oils that serve a particular purpose. For example, fighting germs or lifting the spirits.
In aromatherapy, the blending of essential oils is a very coveted art that has many moving parts to take into consideration. When someone creates a good blend that works well and is pleasing to the nose, it’s time to celebrate! If you don’t want to mix on your own, choose ready-made blends to get started on your aromatherapy journey.
Essential Oils
Edens Garden offers a whopping collection of over 150 essential oils. And they are adding more blends and coming up with new varieties all the time! This makes their product line-up one of the biggest essential oil collections available.
Their oils come in bottles of 5 mL up to 30 mL with a wide range of scents to choose from. You can buy single aroma oils, or a variety of blends as well.
The price point of these essential oils ranges from $6 up to around $45, depending on the kind and amount of the essential oil. This is a very fair and reasonable price range, and allows most customers to try essential oils without breaking the bank.
Essential Oil Blends
Essential oils have a multiplied effect of benefits when combined. Essential oils blends are ready-made to serve a particular purpose.
At the Edens Garden essential oil company, you can choose from 80+ different blends. Blends range from Fatigue Fix or Worry Less to Muscle Relief or Anxiety Ease.
My personal favorites are Bliss essential oil blend, Fighting Five (their alternative to Young Living Thieves®), and Stop Cramps Period.
OK for Kids™ Essential Oils
Edens Garden offers 18 synergy blends that are OK for kids. Two experts have worked together to create this line-up: aromatherapist Sylla Sheppard-Hanger, and essential oil chemist Dr. Robert Pappas. They have kept both safety and aromatherapeutic benefits in mind during their work.
Edens Garden’s OK for kids blends have fun labels, and fun names such as Focus Focus Focus, or Study Buddy. This way, getting your mini ones started with essential oils is both easy and fun!
A few other essential oil companies (such as Plant Therapy or REVIVE) have kid safe essential oil lines. However, Edens Garden’s kids blends line-up is one of the most diverse and comprehensive.
Seasonal Blends
If you are looking for something fun & new, have a look at Edens Garden’s seasonal blends.
They always feature popular fall scents such as Spiced Chai or Autumn Air; and fabulous holiday aromas such as Candy Cane Lane or Winter Wonderland.
Carrier Oils
Edens Garden also sells carrier oils, which you need to dilute the single oils before putting them on your skin.
You’ll be able to choose from 34 different carrier oils. The collection includes avocado, hemp seed, macadamia, camellia seed, sweet almond and more. The price range of these base oils range from around $14 to $24, depending on the kind of carrier oil.
Roll-Ons
Essential oil roll-ons are a convenient way to apply essential oils. They are a 10 ml roller bottle that you can keep in your purse, backpack, or pocket.
The rollers are pre-diluted and ready to use. They’re so handy to have ready anytime you need your oils!
It’s a perfect gift for essential oil beginners or kids. And even seasoned essential oil lovers prefer rollers sometimes.
If you like, you can also make your own roll-on with this easy tutorial here.
Gifts and Sets
Edens Gardens’ essential oil sets come packaged in super pretty boxes, which makes them perfect as gifts. The essential oil kits include a brochure, which helps guide you (or your giftee) in using the oils properly.
There are variety of sets that suit your needs, from De-Stress to a simple Best of the Best.
The sets are quite a bargain price for what you’re getting! Most sets come in options of a 3-set or 6-set, sometimes 12 or 24 oils. This offers great options for smaller or larger purchases. So even if you just need to re-stock your EO library, have a look at these beauties!
Build Your Own Set
If none of the EG starter sets are exactly what you’re looking for, you can build your own set of essential oils. Perhaps you’re looking for a specific combo of essential oils that you’re missing in your collection? Or you want to gift somebody a set that is hand chosen for their specific needs?
Whatever your reason for building your own kit, you can make a custom set of 3, 6, 12, or 24 essential oils. Pricing is $28.95 (for the set of 3), $56.95 (for the set of 6), $111.95 (for the set of 12), and $219.95 (for the set of 24 oils).
From my personal experience, I can tell you that this is a really fun way to shop!
You can also create your own set of roll-ons.
Diffusers
At Edens Garden, you can also shop for aromatherapy diffusers. Diffusers disperse tiny droplets of essential oils into the air around you. Breathing in the scented mist lets you enjoy the therapeutic benefits of essential oils.
Diffusers make a neat accessory to any modern home decor. Edens Gardens’ line-up of diffusers is stylish and of high quality. It’s not your basic run of the mill diffuser! The units are made with ceramic glass covers and high-quality plastic interiors.
A stylish diffuser also makes a unique gift for that essential oil lover in your family. For example, the all-natural reed diffuser is a perfectly thoughtful gift or accessory – and easy to travel with, too.
Natural Essential Oil Soaps
Edens Garden sells beautiful artisan made bar soap, using 100% pure essential oils as an ingredient. These natural bar soaps combine the benefits of aromatherapy with flawless cleansing. EG’s natural soap is free of toxic fragrances and synthetic chemicals.
If you’re not familiar with Edens Garden’s Fighting Five blend, it’s EG’s alternative to Young Living “Thieves”. It is a very popular blend due to its germ-fighting abilities. It comes as no surprise, then, that Edens Garden also offers a natural soap of Fighting Five. This is a perfect hand soap choice for fall ad winter months, the dreaded cold and flu season. I personally use it and love knowing that I have extra germ-fighting power on my hands simply by using this type of hand soap.
Natural Perfumes
If you like to wear the beautiful scents of essential oils as a perfume, you can also opt for Edens Gardens’ natural perfumes. These fragrances are made at a 20% concentration of essential oils. At that, they still carry aromatherapy benefits, but aren’t necessarily as potent as their single oil counterparts.
Natural perfumes are free of synthetic & toxic fragrances. They are still made using 100% pure essential oils. You are not spraying yourself in anything harmful while using a natural perfume.
Customer Experience
Edens Garden has built a strong foundation of trust and safety among its customers. At the core of their company values lies serving the customer’s needs. This explains their growth due to a positive reputation and positive customer experiences.

Loyalty Rewards Program
At Edens Garden, the minute you sign up for an online account on their website, you are eligible to earn rewards points. Their rewards points are called “aroma notes”, and you’ll earn 1 note (or “point”) per $1 spent to begin with. This is the entry-level membership. After 5,000 points earned, you’ll start receiving 2 notes per $1 spent.
You can redeem your points on any of your future orders. They also never expire so you don’t have to feel rushed to use them up.
There is a scale of how much Edens Garden Points are worth:
- 200 Points = $5 = 2.5% Discount
- 500 Points = $15 = 3% Discount
- 750 Points = $25 = 3.3% Discount
- 1400 Points = $50 = 3.6% Discount
I’ve done the math for you here and this means that you get between 2.5% – 3.6% of a discount on your next order once you’ve collected a bunch of points.

Love, love Edens Garden oils and their car diffuser is the best. Makes a great gift. They work well, have quick, free shipping…even to AK, and donate 10% to very worthwhile charities.

I used to use Art Natural, but then I found young living which gave me an understanding of essential oils, I bought a kit and became a representative , but I don’t feel attached to it. Frankly I think they are too expensive for no reason and It feels like a hustle. I tried plant therapy and eden’s garden, I found Eden’s to be my favorite and you get redeemable points when you buy also free shipping , with both as oppose to YL.
Stacy
I’ve read a ton of these comments and agree that people need to do their own research. A company with lower prices DOES NOT mean its better. I personally choose Young Living over any other company for my family. Yup your correct YLs oils are more expensive but at least I know I am getting the real deal. I know I am getting the first distilled batch, the most potent. I don’t have to use 20-25 drops in my diffuser and the sizes of the drops that come out of the bottle line is bull crap. Think about it this way, If I have one tea bag left and 3 of us want a cup of tea with that one tea bag (I get the first cup) who is getting the best cup of tea and who is getting shafted? I just wouldn’t feel right charging you the same price for that 3rd cup as I paid for the amazing first cup.
Donna Invisible
Actually Dr. Pappas tested several of Young living essential oils and found them to be adulterated, not 100% ,synthetic oils in them. You can Google it if you don’t believe me. Young living,do terra are expensive because they are MLM companies not because they are superior or any better than some of the others out there like Eden’s Garden, plant therapy. But out of those two I prefer Eden’s garden
Angel
This is kind of late response. Why do you prefer Edens than PT? Im new to EOs.
Wuk
What about Simply Earth? Have you heard about it? It seem to have very favorable reviews lately.
Emma Carter
Hi Wuk, I’ve seen Simply Earth around, yes. I will see if I can review it in the future. Thank you for your suggestion!
Lara Dolloff
Have you ever heard of Hopewell oils? I’ve been using them for years and I love them! I 100% trust the company, and I have noticed it’s not very well known. Just wondering your thoughts if you have heard about it. The oils are good quality, very much like Eden’s Garden, and the prices are affordable. The Hopewell essential oil company used to be called Heritage essential oils.
Emma Carter
Dear Lara, thank you very much for sending in your recommendation for Hopewell Essential Oils. I’m always looking to explore and try out more brands and I’ll add this one to my radar! I haven’t actually heard of it yet so I can’t tell you if it’s good or not. When I write a review, I personally test all of the essential oil products on my site so the process of getting a new company on there sometimes takes a little while – so your patience is appreciated. Thanks again for the suggestion!!
Donna Invisible
But my favorite is Eden’s garden!
Gayle Smith
Hi I live in Australia. Do you ship to Australia, and are shipping costs expensive?
Emma Carter
Hello Gayle. Thank you for your question! Most certainly, Eden’s Garden ships to Australia and the shipping rates depend on the weight of your parcel. You can check the shipping rates here (Australia would be under “Rest of the World” at the bottom): https://www.edensgarden.com/pages/shipping-policy
Paul
Hi. I just want to say something about Edens Garden’s customer service. There was a problem with the shipment of something I ordered but the company fixed it right away. So, you can shop with them with confidence.
Emma Carter
Thanks so much Paul for letting all of us know about your great experience with EG customer service! ?
Ribin
First off- there is no such thing as therapeutic grade people. No one regulates oils. I believe DoTerra made the term up for marketing and now everyone uses it. If you all actually did research, you would know.
I started with YL. Nice oils, but MLMs are all over priced to pay for all those rewards and perks for the people upnthe pyramid. I liked EG until I realized how dishonest they are. I ordered a 30 ml oil and it smelled like water. I asked if it was diluted and the said no. They said big bottles smell different. So I took a few drops from a big bottle and a small one and put them both in a cap. The oil from large bottle was weaker.
I ordered another oil based on great reviews. It smelled horrible and didn’t work so I wrote a negative review. Guess what, the reason you only see positive reviews is because they won’t post negative ones. I asked why they didn’t post mine and they said because of lack of customer service. I challenge you to find negative reviews.
They said I could pay to return the oil within 30 days. WHAT A JOKE! The shipping is more than the oil. So basically, no return.
Rocky Mt Oil and Plant Therapy are significantly better than EG. They have 90 day free returns. And you will find some negative reviews along with the positive.
If EG is dishonest in their advertising, dilutes their oils & doesn’t believe in backing their product with returns, I don’t know how anybody can trust their oils.
More in-depth research should have been done before writing this article.
Buy elsewhere.
Emma Carter
Hi Ribin, thank you for your opinion and taking the time to write in your review. I read through all of my comment submissions and unless someone is extremely rude in their write-up, I will definitely approve the comment on my blog, no matter the direction of the opinion. So- I’m happy to publish your opinion here for others to read. I would like to challenge the “paying for return” though, perhaps you were an international customer, and not from within the US? I haven’t heard of having to pay for a return yet. But I’ll follow this up and make sure readers of my blog know the exact terms of Eden’s Gardens 30-day “no questions asked” return policy. Be well! ?
Mary-Anne
Personally, I think this article should have a bigger emphasis on the fact that EG gets third party GC/MS tested by EOU, and offers the tests on their website. All these comments on YL oils being so pure and lasting longer in a diffuser. How do you know they are pure? If you emailed them for their tests would they give them to you? The answer is NO they would not give them to you. They “test in house” and do not offer these tests to their customers. In house, meaning a third party is NOT checking their oils to see if they are pure. That is like a teacher asking kids to grade their own tests and each student giving themselves an A+. Do your research please people. These MLM companies sound great, but the reality is that they could be doing anything to these oils and customers believe everything. Seed to Seal sounds amazing, but the reality is they only own a couple of their farms compared to how many oils they sell. Don’t believe me? They just had a scandal with Rosewood oil, here is a link- https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/essential-oils-company-sentenced-lacey-act-and-endangered-species-act-violations-pay-760000
Now read carefully, “According to the plea agreement, from June 2010 to October 2014, several company employees and contractors harvested, transported, and distilled rosewood (Aniba roseaodora or Brazilian rosewood) in Peru and imported some of the resulting oil into the United States, through Ecuador.” They own a farm in Ecuador, but not in Peru where they buy Rosewood from a farm that they do not own. If you actually look into where each oil is from you will see they do not have a SEED TO SEAL on every oil. Even so I would be weary of falling for that due to them not providing the said tests above.
Also your oils last longer in a diffuser? Essential oils aroma will not last as long as a fragrance oil. Not saying they are fragrance oil, but EOU actually did a GC/MS test on several YL Cinnamon Bark oil lots, and found adulteration in them. You can “do your own research” on that. Just email Essential Oil University, and I’m sure they will get back to you with more info.
Now, this is only a tiny bit of information to consider when purchasing from a company. If you want to do your research, join non biased essential oil groups on Facebook or look into blogs that aren’t being paid to promote a company. Thank you Essential Oil Haven for your review on EG and having an open mind when it comes to companies!
Amelia
To answer everyone’s questions, I wanted to bring up the fact that Dr. Pappas tested EG oils (he did the testing for Doterra in the past) and basically said they are quality oils and passed purity tests
Cristie
I have tried EG, DT, and YL and I personally like all three of them. The price for EG is definitely what would give them a higher rating in my opinion. I do ingest some of my YL and DT oils and had wondered about EG oils but read that they should not be ingested so of course it did make me a little worried but when I diffuse or dilute and apply externally I get the same results as I have with the other brands. I have also read a lot of reviews that EG is ranked high above a lot of other companies. The one thing I did read is this: Instead of focusing on producing and making essential oils, Edens Garden also invests a lot of time and money in fragrance oil. If the profit of the fragrance oil is greater than the essential oil, the quality of the essential oil will be decreased. Has anyone else thought this or verified this information about EG?
Jennifer
I wouldn’t be a bit surprised. I’ve used YL and EG. YL is far superior in my case. I use Peppermint and Eucalypus a lot and YL lasts for several hours and provides much comfort. EG lasts 20 minutes (if I’m lucky). I’ve found EG to be garbage.
Hannah
I really appreciate your unbiased review. I got started on my current essential oil craze when my husband randomly came home with a ton of Nature’s Truth oils he had gotten for free from work. I had been a complete skeptic before that. However, after a few weeks of seeing how much essential oils have been able to improve my life, I’ll never go back. I have severe back pain that a fairly heavy dose of fentanyl and hydromorphone directly into my spine hasn’t been able to fully relieve. The essential oils did the trick. Now I’ve been doing research like crazy to figure out where I should make my first actual purchase, because I want to try out a lot of other oils that I don’t currently have. I’m not one to just stick with the brand I have just because I have it, but there are so many different brands out there I had no idea where to start. Most of the reviews I found seem to also be selling the one they decided was the best, so I didn’t feel I could fully trust the assessment. It may very well be that YL and DT are as good as those who sell them say, but that doesn’t change the fact that I can’t afford them. But, I also don’t want the cheapest product out there, because it is probably just cheap. I had been contemplating Eden’s Garden and Plant Therapy. I think I will try Eden’s Garden first. Thanks for the help!
Emma
Awesome Hannah, thanks for the message, I’m so glad my blog and research is helpful to you! Good luck with trying the new oil brands, I hope they’ll work for you as good as your initial set of Nature’s Truth oils!
Evelyn
What essential oils did you use that brought relief? I am in the same pain situation as yourself and would love to know what worked.
Cherie
We switched from DT to E.G Looking for a less expensive option a couple years ago. After a year or so and having tried at least 30 or so of their oils, we switched back. For us, there was a difference in quality. First, we noticed the texture was different, DT seem to be a little thicker. Second, the smell!! That was the huge thing for me! I seriously couldn’t stand some of the oils smells from E.G. clary sage, for example, smells like cigarettes or ash or something, so disgusting! But then, using dōTERRA’s, I actually liked the smell. Now, this could just be coincidence but I was using several oils, including clary sage to prepare my body for labor, (e.g. Oils) I was 5 days over my due date and my mid wife was continuously telling me I was showing almost no progress at each appointment. My doula used DT oils so she brought a lot of the same oils over that I had been using but in DT brand and I used them for all the same things I’d been doing. I went into labor the next day and when my contractions stalled we rubbed a mixture at my ankles, my contractions became regular again, and my daughter was born that night. I was very in tune with my body in labor and felt those oils take effect upon starting to use them and again when labor stalled. I never felt a difference at with e.g. Oils.
