It is one of my top 10 essential oil brands for reasons such as pure oil quality, fair pricing, and a fun company culture. A Brief Company Overview
REVIVE is family-owned and operated by founders Alexandria George (CEO), Suleman Ali, and the George Family (pictured). The essential oil company operates out of San Francisco, CA. REVIVE’s mission is “to provide customers with the highest quality essential oils while maintaining ethical farming practices”.
In an email, REVIVE CEO Alexandria George told me: “We were customers of the big Mulit-Level-Marketing companies for years and years. One day we found out that 50-60% of the purchase price you pay MLMs goes to the pyramid of advocates selling MLM essential oils. Surprised to learn this, we thought there had to be a better way. And so REVIVE was born. We started REVIVE with one mission: Make the highest quality essential oils accessible and affordable to everyone so everyone could afford to live naturally.”
Indeed, REVIVE can be proud of the work they do to realize this mission. Their essential oils all smell amazing, and that is hard to achieve unless you source proper plant materials. REVIVE makes MLM quality oils available to all because they are not a multi-level-marketing company. Thus, they are able to sell to you at fair prices.
At REVIVE, we want to spread the joy and love and health benefits of essential oils to everyone, because everyone should be able to live naturally.
REVIVE is still a newer essential oils brand. At this time, I couldn’t find a LinkedIn business profile, but they do have a Facebook page, Instagram account and Pinterest profile.
REVIVE Coupon Code
Before I head into the nitty gritty of explaining more about REVIVE oils, I just want you to note my coupon code EOHAVEN.
I’ve worked directly with the brand and if you type EOHAVEN at checkout, you’ll get 10% off your order (first time customers), 15% (if you order $100 or more), or 5% off (repeat customers).
If you’re going to choose REVIVE as your go-to essential oils brand, why pay full price?
REVIVE Oils Quality
As a consumer, you want to ensure that the essential oils you bring into your home are 100% pure quality. When compiling an essential oil brand review, a lot of my time and research goes into ensuring proper quality and purity controls from the essential oil company in question.
If you’re hoping to hear the term “pure therapeutic grade”, please understand that those words are a little bit controversial. There is no governing body regulating the labeling of essential oil products. Essential oils are not regulated by the FDA, so there is no way to say for sure what a pure therapeutic grade essential oil is.
The best quality assurance you can get is look into the company’s full oil sourcing cycle.
Essential oil quality starts on the land, at the farm where the plant materials are grown. If you want a good quality essential oil, you want to buy from farmers who treat the plant materials with respect. Quality control also continues during the harvest collection process, all the way through distillation and bottling. I check all of those areas of what a brand does before recommending the essential oil for you to buy.
I am happy to say that REVIVE essential oils does well on all areas of essential oils quality. They have solid sourcing practices, do 3rd party testing, and bottle their oils in the USA.
Sourcing
REVIVE oils utilize all natural plant ingredients sourced sustainably from various countries around the globe. They only buy oils with exceptional aromatic profiles. They also prefer to buy from family-owned farms or smaller companies. These people’s lives are closely tied with the land that sustains their livelihood.
On their website, REVIVE has a page published where you can see which essential oil comes from which source country. I LOVE seeing Peppermint sourced from right within the United States, and not countries like India or China that tend to have (accidental or intentional) impurities in popular oils like Peppermint (Source: Adam Christensen, CEO of Essential Validation Services during the 2018 Essential Oils & Aromatherapy Summit Interview ²).
REVIVE essential oils are also guaranteed pesticide free due to their sourcing from organic or wild crafted sources. REVIVE also offers six essential oils that are USDA certified organic, namely: Frankincense, Lemon, Eucalyptus, Lavender, Tea Tree and Peppermint. Get the kit here.
If you’re wondering if organic oils are truly better, please continue reading here.
Distillation
Steam distillation is the most common way to produce an essential oil. All REVIVE oils are produces using state of the art techniques and processes. REVIVE’s sourcing partners take care of doing the distillation.
I love that REVIVE is open and honest about their distillation practices on the FAQ section on their website – and that I was able to learn something new while researching their practices. It really makes me understand their brand and fully appreciate the work they do to get quality essential oils into the hands of us consumers.
Testing
Dr. Pappas’ Essential Oil University tests each batch of oils before REVIVE ever bottles it. The university verifies the purity, potency and quality of REVIVE essential oils.
This testing process includes GC/MS tests, which confirms “no contamination or adulteration” for each oil.
The quality testing process also includes 19 other tests such as pH testing, Viscometry and Light Sensitivity to name only a few. If a batch of essential oil doesn’t meet top quality standards, REVIVE will reject the batch and not bottle it for resale.
If you’d like to see REVIVE’s oil quality reports, they are publicly available on their website. I am so happy to see they are 3rd party tested!
Are REVIVE Oils Pure?
Yes, REVIVE essential oils are 100% pure therapeutic grade. Their oils DO NOT contain any synthetic fragrance oils, odor enhancers or synthetic aroma chemicals. Quality is paramount to this essential oil company. REVIVE’s owners and team members use essential oils daily, too, on themselves, their kids, and in their homes. Just like you and I, this is a company of real essential oil users.
I know that the term “pure therapeutic grade essential oils” can be a little bit tricky. It is not a regulated or approved term and companies can use it somewhat liberally. Look for other factors that indicate the company provides good quality oils. For me, this starts with transparency and disclosure of business practices. REVIVE offers both 3rd party test results on their website, and a transparent process on where they source their oils.
If you’d like to try REVIVE oils, please use this exclusive coupon code: EOHAVEN at checkout. It gives first time customers 10% OFF any order, and 15% OFF if you buy $100 or more. With free shipping across the United States & Canada, you can’t go wrong!
Product Line-Up
At REVIVE essential oils, you can choose from a full line-up of essential oil starter kits, single oils, essential oil blends, roll-ons, carrier oils, and diffusers. Their product line-up includes:
- 11 different essential oil kits from 3-oil starter kits ($22) to full aromatherapy kits including a diffuser ($120)
- 93 single essential oils, 6 of which are USDA Certified Organic essential oils
- 40 blends for everyday uses, such as “Bugs Away”, “Breathe Easy” or “Sleep”
- 27 roll-ons for varying purposes such as “Stress Easy”, “Women’s Balance”, or “Ache Away”
- 7 carrier oils: Argan, Sweet Almond, Jojoba, Coconut, Grapeseed, Rosehip and Hemp Seed
- No other aromatherapy products such as essential oil jewelry, fragrances, body care lotions, or natural cleaning products
Blends
Alongside the REVIVE Signature blends, they offer duplicates of many doTERRA and Young Living blends. For example they’ve developed REVIVE Protect, which is like doTERRA On Guard. REVIVE Immunity Boost is like Young Living Thieves.
Another popular one is REVIVE Breathe Air which is like doTERRA Breathe.
This makes it easy for Young Living and doTERRA customers to switch to REVIVE. If you have any favorite blends from popular competitors Young Living or doTERRA essential oils, you are able to find REVIVE’s alternative using this easy reference chart. These choices will save you a lot of money compared to Young Living blends or doTERRA products.
Roll-Ons
REVIVE essential oil rollers are handy to have at the ready wherever you are. They are a high-quality roll-on bottle in a standard 10 ml size.
The quality of a roller bottle largely depends on the type of roller ball that is being used. Plastic ones tend to get stuck when you’re trying to use them. The preferred way is to use a stainless steel opening. REVIVE rollers all feature the stainless steel roller ball. Therefore, they are easy to apply and great to use!
REVIVE essential oils’ website features a good roller bottle assortment to browse. A few single oils such as Lavender, Peppermint or Frankincense are available, but mostly it’s their popular blends ready-made into a roll-on package. If you like to make your own rollers, you can buy a 4-pack of empties. On the other hand, you can also start with their full Roll-On Kit if you want the whole assortment at once.
Product Packaging
REVIVE essential oils come in a blue cardboard box with a little heart symbol on each side where the box gets opened. I liked seeing the hearts, and feel that this oil company cares about the customer. They put just that little bit of extra thought into their branding.
That said, compared to other brands such as Plant Therapy or Edens Garden, I think REVIVE has a still ways to go in the area of product appearance.
Personally, I love girly things. I love frills, I love curly fonts, I like a feminine touch. REVIVE essential oils are great oils and I will use them to the last drop in each bottle. However, I would prefer that when I reach for a bottle of EO, I also get that “warm fuzzy feeling” of using something luxurious and beautiful. I would love to see REVIVE branding take it up a notch and get away from the somewhat plain looking packaging to something more fancy.
That’s just personal taste, though! I have heard other customers rave about the simplicity of the bottle labels and the ease of the packaging.
Product Availability
REVIVE essential oils are sold in two places: on their own website and on Amazon.com. This allows the brand to eliminate all the cost and profit that middlemen in multi-level-marketing advocates require.
If you buy from REVIVE’s website, shipping & returns are FREE throughout the USA & Canada. Click “add to cart”, checkout, and your oils will be delivered to your door.
SHOP NOW Use code EOHAVEN for 10-15% OFF (first time customers only)
While it’s great that you can shop on an owner-operated website, I still think there’s something to be said to have product available on larger retailers such as Amazon.com. I also love to be able to simply click “add to cart” during my regular Amazon shopping and have everything arrive all at once in one parcel.
Get the REVIVE Basics Kit on Amazon here for under $50.
Customer Service
From a customer’s perspective, you’ll love shopping at REVIVE essential oils. Shipping is completely FREE on ALL orders in the United States & Canada, no matter what amount you spend. If you live in Mexico, Australia or other select international destinations, you’ll also receive free shipping when spending $75 or more.
For the following countries, all shipments are shipped Duties, Customs, & Taxes paid: Canada, Mexico, Australia, United Kingdom, Germany. On other international orders, any applicable duties, taxes or customs are NOT included and may apply at the time your receive your parcel.
- Orders placed before 1PM EST ship the same business day, the following business day otherwise.
- Should you need to return an item to REVIVE, you’ll also enjoy free return shipping and a full refund within 100 days of your purchase. The FAQ section on www.revive-eo.com even states that bottles can be either unopened or opened to qualify for a full return. It’s a 100% money back guarantee!
- REVIVE offers a live chat on their website where customers can speak to REVIVE aromatherapists.
In short, REVIVE essential oils wants to make YOU happy as their customer. With policies like these, I’d call that “Mission Accomplished”!
Can I use REVIVE Essential Oils Internally?
A lot of people like to have the option to use essential oils internally. Essential oil food recipes are a latest trend I’ve observed on Pinterest. Certain essential oils from the REVIVE product line-up are safe for internal use, you can find them here.
That said, internal use of essential oils is not something I ever personally advocate for (or do!). I believe you need much more personalized guidance to engage in such practices, than what a website blog can offer. Use essential oils internally at your own risk; or better yet, work with a Certified Aromatherapist in your area on an individual basis first before you decide that it’s right for you!
A better method is to choose specific essential oils and mix them with a carrier oil to create an ideal blend of organic body oil that satisfies your particular health care requirements.
In Summary
REVIVE essential oils is a beautiful young essential oil brand. I trust that their sourcing practices are as good as they say. Their plant materials are superb quality, which ends up in the EO bottles we see. They are 3rd party tested, giving a consumer trust in the brand. If they continue to pay close attention to essential oil sourcing practices and providing customers with excellent quality essential oils, we’ll see a lot of them still for a long time.
Their easy cross-reference chart for doTERRA and Young Living blends makes it easy to switch from an MLM company to a more affordable essential oils brand.
REVIVE strives to create 100% happy customers that enjoy their essential oils. They pursue this goal with policies like free shipping & free returns.
I was 100% satisfied with the essential oils and carrier oils I tested from REVIVE. I give them my full recommendation. REVIVE is a great essential oil company to start with if you’re starting the aromatherapy journey in your life.
I hope you enjoyed my REVIVE essential oils brand review. If you have any questions or notes to add, please use the comment form below to get in touch. I’d love to hear from you! This is not a sponsored post. I have not received payment to write or publish this review. All opinions are my own. REVIVE sent me a starter kit so I could evaluate the brand with first hand experience (and take some nice photos!).

I discovered last year that Bergamot EO will get me over a case of bronchitis. So when I came down with it this year, I immediately started putting Revive’s Bergamot into my drinks. It did absolutely nothing for the bronchitis. So after several days I switched to Young Living’s Bergamot, and it cleared up the bronchitis in four days.
I, too, had thought that Revive made really good essential oils. However, they apparently just don’t have the strength and right chemical composition required to be effective.

I make my own oil capsules for consumption for my own health and is working for my diabetes, cholesterol, gut health, lots! And have purchased supplements from DoTerra as well. Does Revive have the therapeutic grade that DoTerra has to be able to continue to make my own supplments with “serving” information on each bottle?
David
Emma,
We, like many serious essential oil users, use several different brands of oil. The one thing we have noticed about REVIVE, which we use mostly because of price, is that often in their blends they use carrier oil as the first ingredient. I have checked with other companies and found that they do not do that, so this has impacted our purchase of blends from REVIVE. Usually we buy them from Young Living or doTerra. This is something for you as a reviewer to look into. Thank you for your reviews
Emma Carter
Hi David, thank you so much for this note. I am not aware of any blends at REVIVE that include a carrier oil. Would you be able to send me an example? Email me at contact@essentialoilhaven.com or please reply here. Of course you are correct, this would impact the efficacy and price point of any blend. I am aware of other essential oil companies that sell blends stretched with Fractionated Coconut Oil.
Stephanie
The only blends I’ve seen with a carrier oil are the roll-on ones. From my research, this is to help reduce sensitivity.
For example, REVIVE Sore No More is a proprietary blend of Peppermint,Wintergreen, Camphor, Ylang Ylang, Helichrysum, Blue Tansy, Blue Chamomile, and Osmanthus essential oils.
The same blend in roll-on has a carrier oil in them and it is listed at the end.:
REVIVE Sore No More Roll-On is a proprietary blend of Peppermint,Wintergreen, Camphor, Ylang Ylang, Helichrysum, Blue Tansy, Blue Chamomile, and Osmanthus essential oils and Fractionated Coconut Oil in an easy to use roller bottle.
Lea
I have read that your oils cost less than Young Living, however, in comparing prices, YL oils come in 15ml, where yours are 10ml… so if I figured correctly your prices are not actually less… ? Was hoping to switch and save a little….
Emma Carter
Hi Lea. Great point! REVIVE oils are still cheaper than Young Living even with the smaller bottle sizes. For example, Lavender at YL is around $30 for 15 ml. At REVIVE it’s $10 for 10 ml. If you bought 2 bottles at YL for a total of 30 ml, you’d pay $60. At REVIVE, you’d buy 3 bottles for a total of 30ml, and you’d pay $30. That’s still half the cost.
If you’re interested, I have a whole article and chart on price comparisons published here: https://www.essentialoilhaven.com/essential-oils-prices-comparison-chart/.
lynn tolsdorf
Where are your oils made, are they all organic? Thanks
Emma Carter
Hi Lynn. The essential oils from REVIVE are made from natural plant ingredients sourced sustainably from various countries around the globe. This is quite common practice as you can imagine, not all plants grow in the climate of the USA. Some oils are organic, but not all. REVIVE sources their materials and oils from organic OR wild crafted sources.
Hope this helps!
LeeAnne Unruh
This was helpful. Not quite as unbiased as I’d like to see in a review. I’m hearing an undertone of dislike for Young Living oils. Their seed to seal guarantee seems fairly unmatched. Can you speak into this? I’ve been researching all the oils as well. I’m having trouble finding any that can describe in detail the quality YL maps out.
Emma Carter
Hi LeeAnne, thank you very much for your comment. Your opinion is appreciated! I don’t dislike Young Living oils. I think that their quality promise is extremely strong. However, I do disagree with the pricing structure for YL oils, and I don’t like that consumers have to pay extra to support a commission structure for multiple tiers of independent distributors before the oil changes hands from Young Living to the end consumer. As an alternative, doTERRA is the only other brand that is working really hard to show a similar sourcing and production quality chain as Seed to Seal. Their process is called “Source to You”.
Hope this helps!
Nancy
Thank you Emma for this.
I’ve been reading about Revive for some time now but came across a comment that their oils are from China and bottled in the U.S.
do you know if there is any truth in this?
Fenna
Hey Nancy, I have seen comments on YouTube alleging this as well. Seems Revive bottles and in the US and sources globally, as of course not everything could be grown in the same climate. This page has where each of Revive’s oils are from: https://www.revive-eo.com/revive-product-list/ Looking at the graphic, seems the four oils that are grown in China are Camphor, Cassia, Lemon Eucalyptus, and Litsea.
The origin country of each oil is also listed on that oil’s product page under “Details.” There’s also a section on each oil’s page to bring up results of third party GC/MS results that test if the oil has the expected components or not. The results for every oil are on this page https://www.revive-eo.com/revive-gcms-reports/
The thing that I really liked when I chose to switch to Revive (aside from the attractive pricing) was that all this info was so easily accessible in multiple places across their site.
Hope it helps you make a decision!
Mary Lynn
I would love it if you would do a review on Saje essential oils. I use those as well as Revive. I do have Young Living Frankincense and that oil from Saje and Revive as well. My husband and I love the Revive Frankincense King.
Emma Carter
Hi Mary, thank you for the suggestion! I’ll put it on my radar to review at a later point.
Mary Ellen Strickland
Hi, just wondering if there is a book available to purchase??
Emma Carter
Hi Mary, yes I have made a list of my top recommended essential oils books here: https://www.essentialoilhaven.com/aromatherapy-books/. Hope it helps!
Katie B
My questions is, how do your oils never go out of stock? If you are sourcing per plant and environment, you should occasionally have items go out of stock. Please explain.
Thanks
KAO
I prefer Plant Therapy they are not as huge and use better quality oils in my opinion. They also give coupons to customers verses doTerra and Revive do not.
Emma Carter
Hi Kao, thank you for your comment and opinion. I love Plant Therapy, too! However, I wanted to clarify that REVIVE does offer coupons. For example, my exclusive coupon EOHAVEN gives a first-time customer 10% off their entire order. Their website also often features seasonal promo codes and other bundles, so you can shop for deals with REVIVE as well. Hope this helps! 💜
Bonnie
Excellent article – thank you for posting. I use essential oils from Revive, doTerra and Rocky Mountain. Actually, the great majority of Revive and doTerra oils are similar in pricing when you factor in that doTerra bottles are 15 ml and Revive bottles are 10 ml. Add to that the rewards program and shipping points doTerra has and they’re a pretty similar value. However, I love the simplicity of free shipping from Revive and not having to calculate points and place separate orders to use up points etc. as I do with doTerra. doTerra’s Adaptive line has been a lifesaver for my college-age daughter in managing her ADD and anxiety. Bottom line is, I don’t think there is a one-size fits all – do your research and do what makes you happy!
Dolores Blocker
Hi,
Thanks for your review of Revive. Since I found this company I have not purchased any oils from anywhere else. I have full confidence in their products and the staff and company policies are awesome. I’m completely happy they do not sell from Amazon or Walmart, this keeps them being able to keep prices etc. very affordable. I hope they never consider selling to these companies and become more concerned for about greed that so many companies do. Staying separate offers a great confidence in their concern for their customers and products. It makes them exclusive and more like a family taking care of their own.
And their packaging is simple and to me that also helps with keeping prices and policies affordable. I very much appreciate that their efforts and practices are geared to help everyone to be able to afford these precious oils. I don’t like paying for frivolous packaging, my money in this day in time is needed for necessities not pretty packaging.
Thanks for allowing me to voice my feelings and experience I have with Revive. I’m just a loyal customer and trust them and their policies.
Sincerely, Dolores
Emma Carter
Hi Dolores, thank you for adding your thoughts to my review piece. It is much appreciated. Thank you for your testimonial of this company, too. I am glad to hear you’re enjoying their products as much as I am. All the best!
Toni
Hi Dolores, I’m not sure if you’ll see this comment but I felt the need to point out that you CAN buy Revive oils on Amazon. Emma mentioned it at the top of her review “ REVIVE oils are available through their website, http://www.revive-eo.com, and on Amazon.com. They don’t sell in big box warehouses like WalMart or Target.” Not sure if that interferes with their quality assurance. I appreciated your other comments about these products. Cheers!
Emma Carter
Hi Toni,
Thank you for your comment, You are correct. I updated the information in my review article when REVIVE did start selling on Amazon. When the company started up and my original article was published, they didn’t list with Amazon. But now they do. I think Dolores commented during a time when they didn’t yet… so in a roundabout way, we are all correct :)
xo, Emma
jenny Mospens
Hi, I have previously joined YL and doTERRA and have found that both companies and many more have religious roots and affiliates. Please no offense but, I would like to support a company that is not associated with any religious organization. One that is as clean as possible. I have narrowed it down to Revive and Mountain Rose Herbs. Do you have any other knowledge of their connections, ethics or politics that might help me make the right choice?
Any wisdom you may have would be very much appreciated. Thank you so very much, Jenny
Emma Carter
Hi Jenny, I appreciate this question, thank you! However, I’m unable to really answer it as I don’t know more background than what I have posted in my articles. I will look into this some more though, and I’ll ask the brands I work with directly. Hopefully I’ll be able to arrive at a more detailed answer for you!
Jamie
Can you use oils from two different companies if they are 100% pure? For example, some from Young Living, some from Revive? I have seen that a lot of people have switched from young living to Revive due to price, but while switching, would it hurt to use together?
Emma Carter
Great question Jamie! You can absolutely mix brands of oils together – I do it all the time. I have many different oil brands at home and don’t always have everything I need from only one brand.
Berengere
Hi thanks for your reviews! Would you say revive stress easy is the best comparable to stress away? I love this YL oil but stopped using it because of its cost. I love its smell and its effect, which one would you recommend? Thanks!
Emma Carter
Hi Berengere, I’m sorry I’m not personally familiar with YL’s Stress Away. However, I have looked at the list of oils in each blend (YL vs REVIVE), and YL Stress Away includes lime, vanilla, copaiba, lavender, cedarwood, and ocotea. REVIVE’s Stress Easy includes the exact same list of oils. I’m sure there are blending techniques and sourcing factors that come into play when doing an exact comparison. And perhaps slight variations in quantities. But as far as “on paper”, the two blends should be incredibly close and totally comparable.
